EXPERIENCE:

Staff Photographer. Governor's Press Office - Feb. 2003 to present.  Document just about everything that occurs in state government as well as serving as the state photographer for the various agencies (Dept. of Natural Resources, Dept. of Environment, etc.)

Staff Photographer. The Capital Newspaper - Nov.1991 to Feb. 2003.  Joined a staff of five to shoot all local Art for the daily Newspaper (c. 50,000).  Daily lab work includes color and black & white processing from film to finished prints.  Also mastered the use of a negative scanner and image manipulation within Photoshop. (on both MACs and PCs)  The past four years have seen the change to fully digital photography with-in the paper.  I’ve been on the cutting edge of photography in this transition.

Freelance Photographer. OdellPhotos.com - 1986 to present.  Major client’s range from politicians to advertising firms.  Assignments include work for Magazine covers and Advertising to Corporate Slide Presentations. 

Photo Editor/Photographer. The Maryland Gazette Newspaper - Oct. 1989 to Nov. 1991. Photographed, edited and developed all color and black & white pictures for The Maryland Gazette (c. 40,000), including spot news, feature art and sports photos. Recruited and supervised freelance photographers. Requisitioned and maintained darkroom equipment and supplies.

Photographer.  University of Maryland Baltimore County. Personal photographer for David Yeager, Dean of Visual Arts Department at University of Maryland. Shot and processed photos for the Visual Arts Department. Processed Dean Yeager's personal work.

Photography Laboratory Technician. UMBC. March 1987 to Oct. 1989. Served as technical advisor for all levels of photography courses. Maintained darkroom equipment and supplies. Signed out equipment to students.

Photo Intern. The Baltimore Sun Magazine. Fall of 1988. Assisted David Harp with several projects, including feature on Camden Yard.

Photographer. The Retriever. University of Maryland Baltimore County. 1988 to 1989.


EQUIPMENT:

Fuji FinePix S3 and Nikon equipment including professional camera bodies (F5, F4, F100, and N90 and Digital D70), lenses of all focal lengths from 17mm to 300mm. Several flashes, including Nikon Speedlights as well as White Lighting and Norman Studio Strobes for Location Studio Set-ups.
